Frequently Asked Questions
What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache hidden at that location.
How does this work at the library?
Each set of corrdiantes and clues will lead you to a cache hidden somewhere inside the library. Once you find the cache, you will be instructed on how to get your raffle ticket. Each ticket entries you into a raffle to win a $25 gift card.
Who can participate?
Anyone can! This is an all-ages event and a great opportunity to take the family out and about for the summer. As long as you have a library card in good standing with any library, your log entry will enter you into that prize drawing too.
How long do I have to do this?
The 2023 dates are: Monday, June 5th to Saturday, August 5th.
Are there other caches we can try?
Yes! Visit geocaching.com to find over 3 million other caches around the world!
