Frequently Asked Questions
What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache hidden at that location.
How does this work at the library?
Our caches are virtual. You will follow clues to find a QR code at each library. When you find the cache, scan the QR code and fill out the Google form. If you are a party of more than one, you will have to fill out the form for each participant.
Who can participate?
Anyone can! This is an all-ages event and a great opportunity to take the family out and about for the summer. As long as you have a library card in good standing with any library, your log entry will enter you into that prize drawing too.
How long do I have to do this?
The 2022 dates are: Monday, June 6th to Saturday, August 6th.
Are there other caches we can try?
Yes! Visit geocaching.com to find over 3 million other caches around the world!
